What do Dr Seuss and Miles Davis have in common…well, a lot actually. First there is the tie to the jazzy compositions of Davis and the rhythmic stylings of Seuss. The rhythmic rhyming of Seuss’s books has inspired many a Jazz musician including The Dr Seuss Project. So there’s that. It just so happens that Seuss and Davis died just days apart (9/24 and 9/26) in 1991. But truly linking the two together is Len Cabral, renowned story teller, writer, poet and orator who wrote a poem about Miles Davis and Dr Seuss, Click here to see a performance of that. Two geniuses, in their own right, one waxing rubadub, in each book he would write. The other elusive, with frenetic rhythm, letting his trumpet do the talking for him.

What might Miles Davis say about this frail logic connecting him to Dr. Seuss? Probably, So What? But still take some time to let it wash over you if you get the chance this weekend!
