From the email era. This went out as a plain email — not on LinkedIn — to a work distribution list. Signature blocks, phone numbers and work links have been removed, and colleagues are referred to by role rather than by name. The writing is unchanged.

Happy Aloha Friday! It was Jean Paul Sartre who inspired my philosophy degree 23 years ago in Arnold Hall on the Hartwick College campus during my Philosophy in Literature course with Professor Stanley Konecky. Something about that long table, all the wood of that room, the discussion style setting, students circled around it, trying to make heads and tales of his magnum opus Being and Nothingness. Then we read The Stranger and was inspired to write, to think critically, to THINK (maybe too much sometimes, my wife would say)!? Enjoy these Jean Paul Sartre | Fun Facts.

This weekend marks the 10 year anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombing and I thought it would be remiss if I didn’t mention it , highlighting the courageous nature of the victims who survived, honoring those who lost their lives, and the heroes that rose out of the crowd to rush in to save lives.

This week’s inspiration comes from vibrant colors of the Super Bloom out west as well as the April showers dumping on south Florida. Many songs have color references in their title, but these three color songs are my favorite: Joni Mitchell | Blue, Coldplay | Yellow, and 311 | Amber. The emotion emanating from these songs gives me chills each and every time I hear them. Feel free to share yours with me.
