Happy Aloha Friday!
This weekend marks the official halfway point between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hallmark has us dizzy spinning up the latest and greatest tales invoking the holiday spirit via some fictional New England town. The age-old debate for greatest holiday movie of all time wages on (Four Christmases, Elf, A Christmas Story, A Charlie Brown Christmas, It’s a Wonderful Life, Deck the Halls?) And, New Year’s Resolutions are created and, statistically, set up for failure.
Setting a New Year’s Resolution is as old as time. So is tossing it to the wind. So much pressure is put on the individual in the anticipation of the starting date that many people just fold as the starting gun is fired (Isn’t it ironic that New Year’s is synonymous with DROPPING THE BALL). So, how do we get ahead of this. First read this book. There are many on the subject, but this is atomically the best…LOL! But, in lieu of, or, in addition to reading Atomic Habits follow a better plan…start now, on some arbitrary date. Know what it is that you want to do, write it down, tell everyone around you, and then follow James Clear’s four laws of behavior change: 1) Make it Obvious, 2) Make it Attractive, 3) Make it Easy, and 4) Make it Satisfying.
Speaking of satisfying, here are three tracks that are sure to get you in the Holiday Spirit! But you don’t have to take my word for it (do you get the reference?).
