Happy Aloha Friday,
Today we celebrate Women’s Equality! Check out this LINKto learn more about it and the struggles to get where we are today. Ironically, my sister did her senior thesis (Boston College) on a movement of Anti-Suffragists, so that existed. But, more exciting was the documentary that she helped produce on Tupperware that debuted at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts called Tupperware! I know what you are thinking, how could that documentary by interesting? It was absolutely hilarious! The focus was less on the product and more on the direct sales strategy that catapulted it and the women who sold it into homes across America! If that weren’t enough, my sister then went on to write her dissertation (Columbia) on the history of advice columns, which she recently published as a book called Newspaper Confessions: A History of Advice Columns in a Pre-Internet Age. She is such an inspiration.
So Today, go out there and celebrate the women in your life. I, for one, know that I would be nowhere without the one’s in mine!
Here is to the amazing and remarkable women that are on the Nonprofit team!
Mahalo Nui!
